Visit some of the prominent land marks the city is famous for. Drive
past the Asiatic Library (old Town Hall),

past the stretch of Marine Drive also called the Queen's Necklace. Visit the Jain Temple followed by a visit to Hanging Gardens and the Kamla Nehru Park from where you can get an excellent view of the city. Drive past the Parsi Towers of Silence to the Dhobi Ghat, the open-air laundry to which is still popular with the citizens despite the advent of the modern washing machine! Visit Mani Bhavan today
a museum but this was the residence of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi when he stayed in Mumbai between 1917 - 1934. Thereafter drive through the business districts of South Mumbai passing by monuments built during the British era, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (Victoria Terminus), Mumbai University & High Court. Proceed to the airport to board flight to Cochin.

sightseeing tour. The

Mattancherry Palace (Closed on Friday and on national holidays), built by the Portuguese in 1557. St.Francis Church, the oldest in the region. The Jewish Synagogue (Closed on Saturday and on Jewish holidays), built in 1568, which still preserves scrolls of the Old Testament in Hebrew. The Spice Market and the old Jewish Quarter are worth a visit too. Return to the hotel for lunch. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

ON BOARD M.V. VRINDA

10:30 After breakfast, you will be transported from the
hotel to the Vembanad Lake jetty by an air-conditioned car. The 55 kms journey will take about an hour and fifteen minutes.
12:30 You will board the vessel which will sail across the Vembanad Lake and cruise along the Kumarakom shore. Lunch will be served on board.

The vessel will sail along the scenic waterways for four and a half hours and return to the Vembanad Lake in time to watch the sunset.

Later in the evening, you can watch a Mohiniattam recital.

This classical dance form, distinctive to Kerala, is also called the ‘Dance of the Enchantress’. Dancers attired in beautiful traditional costumes will perform with slow, graceful movements and highly emotive expressions. M.V. Vrinda will anchor for the night at the Vembanad Lake jetty. Enjoy dinner on board.

Monday

ON BOARD M.V. VRINDA

08.00 M.V. Vrinda will sail from the Vembanad Lake jetty and head South, towards Alleppey. Breakfast will be served on board. The vessel will enter the waterways of the Pamba River through the Alleppey canal. Sailing through scenic backwaters, you can observe life along these "water highways" which passing through one of the few areas in the world where farming is done below sea level.

The vessel will anchor near Kanjippadam and guests will be transferred to a traditional rice boat to navigate through the narrower sections of the backwaters. For the next 3 hours, guests will observe and experience a way of life unique to this region.

This section of the cruise includes visits to the half-statue of Lord Buddha at Karumadi and St.Mary's Church at Chambakulam established by St.Thomas in 1721.

You will also explore the boat yard which displays the traditional long snake boats used in races.

Later in the day, you will return to M.V. Vrinda where lunch will be served as the boat passes through picturesque stretches of the backwaters on way back to Alleppey, known as the 'Venice of the East'. M.V. Vrinda will anchor for the night at the Vembanad Lake jetty. Dinner on board.

07.30 M.V. Vrinda will sail along the main waterways channel on the Vembanad Lake. Breakfast will be served on board following which the vessel will return to the Vembanad Lake jetty.
10.00 You will check out and will be transported by air-conditioned car to Thekkady.
On arrival check in at Hotel.
1600 Hrs Enjoy the boat ride tour of Lake Periyar
- Periyar – This sanctuary, near the border with the sate of Tamilnadu, is in a beautiful valley setting, and was infact designated a part of Project Tiger in 1973, though Tiger sighting, is rare ! The sanctuary, is better known for it’s Elephants. Most bulls here,
are tuskerless. Some of the other animals commonly seen here are – Bison, Sambar, Wild boar, Spotted deer, black Nilgiri Langaurs, etc
Overnight in Thekakdy.
